Donor ToolKit
Welcome to the Donor Toolkit, and thank you for your interest in The Children’s Advocacy Center. The CAC works to protect children, heal families, and prevent child sexual abuse. Community support allows us to serve over 1,200 children and their families each year.
This toolkit will provide basic information about The CAC and our giving opportunities. Please join us and become a part of the solution to end child sexual abuse and sex trafficking in our community.
Introduction to The Children’s Advocacy Center
A CAC is designed to centralize the necessary support and services for abused and neglected children within a community. The CAC Model is designed to improve the investigation process by bringing all the services children need to them in one location and provide a comprehensive, child-centered approach to the investigation, treatment and prosecution of child abuse.
Without a CAC, an abused child has to go through multiple interviews by law enforcement, social services, medical services, counselors and prosecutors. Often these interviews would be conducted at different locations throughout the county over an extended period of time and the child would be forced to relive the horrors of their abuse by retelling the details of their experience, which caused unnecessary trauma and made it nearly impossible for many children and families to find the strength they needed to cross the finish line and testify in court against their abusers.
