Guardians for New Futures, Inc. (GFNF4Kids) is expanding its commitment to protecting children across the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee with the launch of its new Child Protection Awareness Program, featuring training on Recognizing and Responding to Child Abuse.
The program is designed to give community members, professionals, volunteers, and organizations practical knowledge they can use to recognize possible signs of child abuse and respond appropriately when concerns arise.
Expanding Child Protection Education Across the Community
The training was originally developed in partnership with the Indian River State College Public Safety Training Complex, where it was used to educate first responder candidates.
Following the success of that training and increased demand for child protection education, GFNF4Kids is expanding the program throughout the community.
Training sessions are now available for schools, nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, businesses, professional groups, volunteers, and other organizations serving children and families throughout the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee.
What Participants Will Learn
The Child Protection Awareness Program provides practical, evidence-informed instruction focused on helping participants better understand child abuse and their role in protecting vulnerable children.
Training topics include recognizing potential indicators of child abuse, understanding reporting responsibilities, knowing how to respond appropriately when concerns arise, and helping create safer environments for children.
Participants may also receive free Continuing Education Units, when applicable, along with a training certificate upon completion.

Child Protection Is a Community Responsibility
Protecting children requires awareness, education, and participation throughout the community.
“Protecting children is a shared community responsibility. By increasing awareness and providing practical training, we can empower individuals to recognize abuse, respond appropriately, and help create safer environments for all children.”
Through the Child Protection Awareness Program, GFNF4Kids hopes to give more people the confidence and knowledge needed to recognize warning signs, take appropriate action, and become stronger advocates for children.
